Three of us spent about 8 hours doing an intensive model making day. This focus session gave us lots of time to prototype, refine shapes and iterate forms.
The day looked a bit like this...
1. Get cardboard for junk modelling

2. CAD

3. Laser cutting

4. Assemble shapes

5. Try on for fit

6. Modify form

7. Repeat steps 2 - 6 about another 10 times.

8. Choose the best foam for the model

9. Cut the foam

10. Choose fabric to represent the mesh vest

11. Make patterns and sew

12. Test lighting options

13. We have decided that the best way to illuminate the pads will be with Electro Luminescent Panels, as the LED strips we were using didn't give an even enough coverage. The beauty of EL Panels is that they can be cut to shape. as opposed to our mock -ups.
14. Of course, there was lots of other CAD modelling and coding going on in the in between bits. We also ate quiche and drank coffee.
