Here are two concepts that I came up with that didn't make the shortlist.
The first I like to call 'Sukka Punch', named for the catch phrase of Mr T, and also for a fist fighting move.
It is a bit silly and a lot of fun and is aimed at distracting your opponent.
Every time you score a hit on your opponent, a phase from a pop-culture 'tough-guy / girl' is played through headphones in their helmet.
The second is 'Paint Ball Boxing'.
By having a reservoir of dye in the end of each glove (coloured powder used in the Indian Diwali celebrations, Holi), the boxing game quickly becomes a fun, colourful event where punches leave a lasting mark. Very visual, very tangible, totally embedded and no batteries required.
