How big is a boxing ring?

It seems that there is no standard size of boxing ring.

Australian boxing ring manufacturer, Jim Bradley Speedball Co. sell rings that range from the roomy 7.2 m x 7.2 m down to the cosy portable sparring sized ring at 4 meters from post to post.

Posts are generally about 1.5 m taller than the floor mat.

It would be good if our system could grow to the needs of each use.
It could be a larger size for gym based events, but easily set up to a smaller size for public demonstrations where space may be limited.

Using retractable straps like those in safety bollards would answer this need perfectly. One set of bollards would suit multiple applications.

The straps can be brightly coloured (Red / Blue) for visibility and to tie in with the boxing livery. Distance marks can be printed on the straps for ease of setup to the desired size.

The beauty of this is that it is a simple recreation of an already proven product with off-the-shelf components. Of course, it can get even better...
