After some successful prototyping and some hit and miss coding I have decided to refine the flowchart of the bed to make the second input 'natural' rather than arbitrary. Moving away from a set time (using a clock), the bed will now wake you when the sun is up.
This is a bed that wakes you when the world awakes, not at an arbitrary time.
The two inputs to run the code are now...
1. Is the sun shining?
and
2. Am I still in bed?
